Contrary to appearances we are all fully house trained and very friendly.
Founded by Bryan Hough the Lancashire branch of the Dry Stone Walling Association of Great Britain was re-launched in April 1995.
The aim of the branch is to promote, and train people in the craft of dry
stone walling, within our area.
In addition to providing training weekends, the branch holds monthly practice meetings throughout the year. We also attend agricultural and county shows to demonstrate the work of the branch, as well as promote the craft.
Members lucky enough to be retired meet once a week throughout the year to work on a variety of walling ‘challenges’
During the summer we have a social walk which is open to friends and family finishing with a pub meal.
At the end of the year we hold an annual Christmas get together at a pub in the Saddleworth area to which all members, friends and family are welcome.
